Verra, the global standard setter for climate action and sustainable development, has added three new validation/verification bodies (VVBs) to the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program: Ecolance, TÜV Rheinland, and Internat Energy Solutions Canada. VVBs play a critical role in ensuring that VCS methodologies, methodology elements, and projects are in line with the program’s requirements and sector-specific best practices. By approving these VVBs, Verra aims to maintain the integrity of the certified projects in the VCS Program and issue high-quality carbon credits. The addition of these VVBs provides project proponents with access to VVBs in various sectoral scopes in different regions.
