CO280 is a project developer focused on carbon negative projects aimed at combating climate change. They partner with various entities to develop and operate carbon negative projects, with a goal of capturing and sequestering 10 million tons of carbon dioxide per year by 2030. Their primary revenue source is the sale of Carbon Dioxide Removals (CDR). The company is seeking an MRV Manager who will be responsible for driving their MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) and LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) strategy. The MRV Manager will play a crucial role in accessing segments of the carbon markets and supporting customers throughout the sales cycle and onboarding process.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong understanding of carbon projects, registries, and methodologies, as well as experience with the issuance of verified carbon credits. They will collaborate closely with various departments within the company, including project development, marketing, and sales. The MRV Manager will need to be a strategic thinker and innovative problem solver, with the ability to build strong relationships. Strong quantitative skills and attention to detail are also important for success in this role.
Responsibilities of the MRV Manager include understanding all aspects of carbon projects and registries, leading the preparation of verification documentation, managing relationships with third-party auditors, and advising on compliance market access strategies. The MRV Manager will also develop and manage a complex carbon inventory management and credit issuance system, as well as interface with project partners to collect and manage data for internal forecasts and models.
Qualifications for the role include 5+ years of experience in analytical and customer-facing roles, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in carbon market methodologies and standards. A strong technical or scientific background, as well as familiarity with voluntary carbon standards and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, are desired. Knowledge of new developments in the voluntary carbon market and government mandates is also important. Experience in life cycle assessment and forestry practices is a plus.
