Harvey’s Point, a hotel located just outside Donegal Town, has achieved a major milestone by being awarded the Gold Label on the Fifty Shades Greener Green Business Program. This makes Harvey’s Point the first hotel in Donegal to receive this prestigious recognition. The Fifty Shades Greener program is a leading sustainability company that provides education, certification, and consultancy to businesses and tourism destinations.

Harvey’s Point has made significant progress in its sustainability efforts. In terms of energy consumption, the hotel is on track to reduce it by 10% in 2023 compared to 2022 through the use of energy-saving equipment. They also plan to reduce their gas usage by 30% by switching the kitchen supply from gas to electricity. Additionally, all lighting has been upgraded to LEDs, and the hotel aims to reduce oil usage by 15% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to 2022.
